Generally, I applaud the Italians' conservative use of space. Except in the shower. Even I found them confining, but the poor men!
We stayed at a modern hotel in Venezia and Jill and I celebrated when we saw an actual bathtub in the rooms. A warm soak invited us to relax at the end of our cold and rainy day. We also expected, for once, reasonable shower space. You know, a shower curtain that runs along the side of the tub? Not so in Italy. Even with the bathtub, they managed to restrict the shower space by suspending a circular shower curtain from the ceiling. Sheesh.
So, the eighth thing I missed about home--bathtubs and showers with elbow room!
