All over Italy, the old--very, very old--and the new comfortably sit side by side. In Ancient Roma, too, where they built this "new" church of San Lorenzo in Miranda inside the shell of the Temple of Antoninus and Faustina. Christians recycled pagan holidays, so why not their temples?
